St. Wendelin's Catholic School The core academic areas of Religion, Language Arts, Math, Social Studies and Science are provided to students through our Montessori instructional program as well as some traditional instructional methods.
Accelerated Reader: The K-6 students participate in the Accelerated Reader program. AR encourages students to choose reading materials in a variety of topics and writing styles. The program provides for assessment activities to check for comprehension of the material read.
Art: An art specialist provides opportunities for creative expression through weekly art activities. Art activities also occur in the regular classroom as the relate to other classroom instruction.
Barton: Students needing additional support in the areas of reading and spelling are able to receive additional instruction from our Barton Specialist.
Music: Our liturgy is enhanced by our school choir through vocals and musical instruments. The choir is directed by our Music teacher which also provides music classes twice a week.
Phy Ed: In additional to the daily recess periods students have the opportunity for physical activities during their three times a week Phy Ed classes.
Technology: Students attend computer class twice a week. Students in grades K-2 have one-to-one iPads in their classrooms and grades 3-6 have individual Chromebooks for use with class assignments.
